Kathy Emmons

Director of Human Resources and Volunteer Services

Kathy was raised in Nebraska and completed her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Nebraska and Kearney, and her graduate degree from Chadron State College with double majors in Guidance and Counseling and Career Vocational Guidance. Shortly after completing her graduate degree she moved to Wyoming and spent several years in state government and non-profit organizations working with children with disabilities. She also spent several years as an advocate and lobbyist dealing with children and low income populations.

Kathy went on to serve four years in Governor David Freudenthal’s cabinet as the Director of the Department of Workforce Services. During this time she had the opportunity to create a new department in State Government with 300 employees and a 90$ million dollar budget serving the entire state of Wyoming.

During the past 3 years Kathy has been employed with Cheyenne Regional Medical Center a regional health care system with approximately 1,900 employees serving portions of Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska. She began her employment first as an Organization Development Specialist with responsibilities for leadership development, group facilitation and as an executive coach. A little over a year ago Kathy was promoted to Director of the Department the Human Resources and most recently added Director of Volunteer Services to her title. While in this position Kathy has achieved her Board Certified Coaching Status.

Kathy currently lives in Cheyenne with her daughter who recently completed her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming and two rambunctious dogs. She likes to ski, travel and has a goal of zip lining in every state.
